Long Shadows Poet's Leap Botrytis Riesling
Botrytis Cinerea, also known as “noble rot”, is a beneficial mold that grows on ripe wine grapes in the vineyard under specific climatic conditions. The mold dehydrates the grapes, leaving them shriveled and raisinated which concentrates the sugars and flavors. Wines made from these berries have a rich, complex, honeyed character and are higher in residual sugar.
The 2019 Poet’s Leap Botrytis Riesling (375ml) is a rare and multi-layered dessert wine bursting with well-ripened fruit, honey, and marmalade flavors. Although ready to drink now, this opulent late harvest Riesling will age beautifully to provide many years of enjoyment.
