E. Guigal Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020
2020 E. Guigal Châteauneuf-du-Pape
An intensely concentrated and complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape from one of the Rhône Valley’s most passionate producers. E. Guigal brings the same meticulous care to the South as they do to their famed Northern Rhône sites, crafting a wine that’s rich, savory, and seamlessly balanced.
A remarkable expression of place and patience — drinkable now yet built to age beautifully for years to come.
Vineyard
A blend of 70% old-vine Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and 5% other varieties, sourced from 50-year-old vines rooted in the iconic galets roulés (rounded stones) and red clay soils that define the region’s terroir.
Winemaking
Guigal’s signature long aging process sets this wine apart. After traditional vinification with temperature-controlled fermentation and a three-week maceration, the blend rests for three years in large oak foudres before extended bottle aging. The result is a wine of extraordinary depth, texture, and harmony.
Vintage
The 2020 vintage was classic and balanced, with ideal harvest conditions following a dry summer. Expect an elegant and harmonious profile — a refined contrast to the more powerful 2018–2019 years.
