Dusky Goose has stayed deliberately small for two decades.Founded on the confidence that Oregon could produce Pinot Noir to rival the best in the world, John and Linda Carter established Rambouillet Vineyard in the Dundee Hills in 2001, envisioning a site that would speak with both power and finesse and with guidance from legendary winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash, a style was born: generous, textural wines with structure and ageability.

That house style is unmistakable in the glass.Penner-Ash fashioned a moderately intense expression of Pinot Noir while still capturing its herbal and savory nuances — never falling into jam-y power, but retaining balance and grace. Twenty-plus years on, the estate is still following that blueprint.

The farming is the quiet advantage:three Dundee Hills vineyards — Rambouillet, Lillie's and Weber — form a natural amphitheater around the tasting room, and though they're planted in the same volcanic Jory soils just steps apart, each imparts its own character shaped by elevation, aspect and clonal selection. The Carters farm their estate vineyards LIVE certified, with a commitment to low-impact viticulture and low yields.

Tasting notes — 2023A classic Dusky Goose profile of dark dried cherries is accented by a top note of orange zest, a middle layer of raspberry sauce, and intricate weavings of truffle and welcoming toasty spices. Silky, with mouth-filling volume and a resonant finish.
