Lustau Rare Oloroso Gran Reserva 'Emperatriz Eugenia'
Lustau Rare Oloroso Emperatriz Eugenia is an exceptional dry Oloroso Sherry from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, aged for an average of 15 years using the traditional solera system. Rich, elegant, and intensely complex, this award-winning Sherry showcases the remarkable depth that develops through long oxidative aging.
Deep old gold in color, it reveals captivating aromas of toasted walnuts, noble oak, dried figs, prunes, caramel, and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and silky, delivering layers of roasted nuts, bitter chocolate, dark dried fruit, and smoky wood balanced by a savory, bone-dry finish with lingering notes of almond and sea salt.
Originally established by Emilio Lustau in 1921, the Emperatriz Eugenia solera was named in honor of Eugénie de Montijo, the last Empress of France, whose Spanish heritage and ties to Jerez inspired this distinguished wine.
An outstanding companion to charcuterie and aged cheeses, Lustau Rare Oloroso Emperatriz Eugenia pairs beautifully with jamón Ibérico, prosciutto, aged cheddar, Gruyère, roasted nuts, and hearty mushroom dishes. It also makes an exceptional after-dinner sipper.
