Willamette Valley Vineyards Grüner Veltliner
The Grüner Veltliner is an Austrian style varietal and was grafted on the first vines planted by the O’Briens at the Elton Vineyard. It is one of the smallest blocks of vines among our plantings. This refreshingly crisp white is known for its flexible pairings and medium body with a zesty finish.
On the Nose: Lemon in color, the wine opens with aromas of green apple, yuzu, Asian pear, lime zest and slate.
On the Palate: The sweet flavors mirror the aromas with the addition of white peach, honeydew, green papaya and dried ginger. The flavors are enhanced with a weighted mouthfeel and conclude with pleasant acidity and a lasting finish.
Food Pairings: This wine pairs well with simple dishes that have a sprinkle of salt or zest. Enjoy with green salads with tart vinaigrette dressings, lemon orzo pasta salad and chicken schnitzel.
