2022 Morey-Saint-Denis “En la Rue de Vergy”
Perched high on the slope directly above the grand crus of Clos de Tart and Clos des Lambrays, En la Rue de Vergy is one of Morey-Saint-Denis’ most celebrated lieux-dits. Though classified as village-level Burgundy, its elevated position, shallow limestone soils, and proximity to the grand crus give this wine an exceptional sense of place.
The 2022 vintage brings together ripe red cherry and wild raspberry with delicate notes of rose petal, licorice, and cool mineral tones. Medium-bodied and finely structured, it is bright, elegant, and beautifully lifted, with silky tannins and a long, stony finish.
A warm, generous vintage with remarkable freshness and energy, this is a fantastic example of how a top village parcel can deliver premier cru-like character without the premier cru price.
Drink: Now with some air or cellar through the early 2030s
